Earthworm
A cafe on the IUPUI campus that focus on sustainability and eco-friendliness in consumerism.
Branding work on designing an on-campus food service. The cafe’s main focus is on sustainability by composting leftover food and recyclable utensils/lunchboxes. With the idea of composting leftover waste, we wanted to use it in a campus community garden where those grown foods would be used in the cafe.
This concept is placed in a cafe and greenhouse setting that includes the utilization of recycled furniture, an efficient composting system, and the utilization of resulting compost materials for the benefit of the nearby Herron School of Art and Design's public garden in the greenhouse. The envisioned café strategically addresses the issue of limited food options around the school, providing students with convenient access to quick and nutritious meals.

Greenhouse?
compost?
do herron students starve?
HOW the heck does it work?
With a make-believe million dollars at our disposal and the approval of our professors, we rise to make a change and explore the most exemplary and health-conscious food solutions for Herron students and staff, ensuring them convenient access as well as nourishing options. Giving food that is easy to grab and good for them, here's how we envisioned our heaven….. completed with my branding strategies of course.
Our concept revolves around an environmentally-friendly greenhouse cafe, featuring compostable utensils such as straws, napkins, and lunch boxes, as well as a carefully curated selection of reused antique furniture to enhance the café's aesthetics. A greenhouse is attached to the cafe, which not only provides a charming atmosphere but also serves as an access point to a garden. This garden benefits from our commitment to sustainability, as we collaborate with a composting company to convert our food scraps into nutrient-rich compost. This sustainable practice then comes full circle, as the compost is used to nurture our greenhouse garden, yielding a bounty of healthy and delicious produce!!
In addition to our greenhouse, we would source food products from our totally real reputable suppliers to ensure quality and variety! By prioritizing environmentally-conscious consumer choices, we aim to provide Herron students and staff with improved meals while simultaneously fostering a greener living environment on campus. With better resources and access to food, it can enhance students’ engagement and well-being through a unique blend of eco-friendly practices and culinary excellence! (If IUI will ever listen to us…….shhhh i didn’t say anything….)
